Sumership Grants/Bourses d'Été

2009 Summership Grants Awarded

The Sjögren's Society of Canada is proud to announce that we have awarded two 2009 summer studentship grants. The grants have been awarded to Elysia Nishanie Jagdeo of the University of Toronto and Melissa Oliver of the University of Waterloo.

Ms. Jagdeo's study is entitled, “Subjective Effectiveness of Various Oral Moisturizers on Relief of Xerostomia in Sjögren's Syndrome Patients'.

Ms. Oliver's study proposal is entitled, “The Natural History of Sjögren's Syndrome”. The project is an online PILOT questionnaire and is the beginning of a larger ten year longitudinal study of patients to determine the impact of Sjögren's syndrome on patients' lives.

These two studies mark the first research grants funded by the Sjögren's Society of Canada.
