Watson Buchanan Memorial Fund Golf Tournament

On June 30, 2009, the Sjögren's Society of Canada will be hosting its first annual golf tournament to raise money for the Watson Buchanan Memorial Fund. The golf tournament will be held at the Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club for family, friends, coworkers and Sjögren's Society supporters.
Dr. Buchanan was a highly respected professor of Medicine at McMaster University. He was an internationally renowned clinician, educator and researcher. As an expert in the field of rheumatology, he published more than 525 papers and made a significant contribution in defining Sjögren's syndrome. His imagination, energy and inquiring mind knew no boundaries and he inspired young scientists and clinicians who came under his influence.
Watson was a member of Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club for over 25 years and made significant contributions such as founding the Osler Cup to support junior golf. He was a much loved member and engaged many of the clubs members in further education ranging from world history, Robert Burns, Shakespeare and contemporary politics. He was viewed by everyone at Dundas as being “larger than life”. Dundas Valley for Watson was home away from home.
The golf tournament will include a scotch lounge, dinner reception, silent auction and first-class entertainment. Do not worry if you are a novice - each player on the team will play his/her own ball. This tournament will be using the Callaway handicap system which levels the playing field.
